SEATTLE, Aug. 15, 2007 -- The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] will supply GoldCare lifecycle support services to Rolls-Royce plc for the UK company's Trent 1000 engine TotalCare® program.
The GoldCare Material Management agreement announced today provides repair and overhaul for 787 Dreamliner underwing rotable airplane components as an option for Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 TotalCare service agreements. This allows Rolls-Royce to integrate support of these components into TotalCare to provide a more complete solution for the Trent 1000.
"This partnership with Boeing means we can extend and improve the services we can offer to our customers under TotalCare. We're delighted to build on our relationship with Boeing with this agreement," said Dominic Horwood, director, Boeing Programmes at Rolls-Royce.
More than 500 Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines have been ordered for the 787, and 80 percent of all Trent customers since 2001 have selected TotalCare services.
"We're proud to add value to Rolls-Royce's TotalCare program and better serve airline customers with lifecycle solutions through a predictable per-flight-hour pricing approach," said John Borst, director, GoldCare Materials Management at Boeing.
GoldCare is Boeing's flexible range of comprehensive lifecycle management services for the 787 Dreamliner, offering new strategic business choices for customers to boost airplane availability, reduce cost and improve efficiency as they acquire, operate and transition their fleets.
To deliver GoldCare services, Boeing leads a global team performing maintenance, engineering and spares logistics tasks at a predictable per-flight-hour cost.
GoldCare services for airlines provide 24x7 operations-center support using enabling technologies to turn airplane operating data into actionable information to enhance efficiency and maximize airplane availability.
Whether start-up or established, GoldCare has solutions to maximize efficiency and flexibility for all 787 customers. Smaller airlines act big with enhanced economies of scale and best-in-class technical and planning support. Larger carriers play nimble, with asset-light operations that scale easily.
