SE FUERON LOS MIL MI 26 DE BRUSELAS...

Desde hace algunos años se podia observar en el Brussels South Charleroi Airport, de Belgica, a los dos imponentes helicopteros Mi 26 pertenecientes a la empresa Skytech.

Hace unos dias por fin fueron desmontados para su transporte a Rusia a bordo de un buque portacontenedores, para lo cual, y como el traslado al mismo se realizaria por tierra, se procedio a desmontar sus rotores y quitar sus turbinas, las cuales fueron llevadas por separado.

Felizmente la operacion se realizo sin mayores contratiempos.

ACCIDENTE 747 KALITTA AIR - BELGICA

Hoy, 25 de mayo, un Boeing 747-200F carguero de Kalitta Air, aerolínea estadounidense basada en Michigan, se salía por el final de pista 20 del Aeropuerto de Bruselas (BRU/EBBR), durante el intento de despegue de un vuelo con destino Bahrain.
Como se puede ver en las imágenes, el avión se partía en dos y se detenía muy cerca de la vía del ferrocarril que une el Aeropuerto con el centro de la ciudad. Afortunadamente, la tripulación pudo abandonar el avión tras el accidente sin más consecuencias que leves contusiones.

Aunque es pronto para establecer las causas del accidente, parece ser que el piloto reportó haber oido un gran ruido en plena carrera de despegue, justo antes salirse de pista. Increible suerte que no se produjese un gran incendio, al ir cargado hasta los topes de Jet A-1.

Se retiro el ultimo Fouga Magister de la Fuerza Aerea Belga

On September 27 flew the last Fouga Magister of the Belgian Air Force.
It was the MT35 c/n 292.
A ceremony was done.
Thousands enthusiasts coming from France, Germany, The Netherlands,... from everywhere follow the plane towed by a truck up to its starting place !
It was raining. The ceiling was low. One of the engines refused to start. The plane has to remain on the ground to the great disappointment of the crowd.
Belgian Air Force used the CM 170 from 1960 up to 27 september 2007.
The MT 35 was the latest. Flown by Col. Rorive, this plane participated to a lot of meetings everywhere in Europe.

El 27 de septiembre voló el último Fouga Magíster de las Fuerzas Aéreas belgas.
Se trataba del MT35 c/n 292.
Durante la ceremonia realizada, ante la presencia de miles de entusiastas venidos de todas partes de Europa, Francia, Alemania, Holanda, todos ellos siguieron al remolque del avion hasta el sitio de despegue.
El techo estaba bajo, llovia!
Uno de los motores no quiso encenderse. El avión tiene que permanecer en tierra lo que causo una gran decepción en la muchedumbre.
Las Fuerzas Aéreas Belgas usaron el CM 170 desde 1960 hasta el 27 de septiembre de 2007. El MT 35 fue el último.
A los mandos del Coronel. Rorive, este avión participó en muchos operativos por todas partes en Europa.

Frente del pequeño campo de aviación "Temploux" situado cerca de la ciudad de Namur en Bélgica.

Este Mirage lleva el nombre de los pilotos muertos con esta clase de avión durante el período de empleo por las Fuerzas Aéreas belgas.Este avión perteneció al 8e la Escuadrilla (la 3a Ala) de la Base Aérea Bierset.

EJERCITO DE BELGICA - PRIMER BATALLON DE PARACAIDISTAS

The 1st Belgian Para Coy was born on the 8th May 1942 in UK. Their members (Belgians livin abroad) came from all around the world (Canada, Africa, USA, Argentina..aso..).
The Belgian Paras won the famous wings at the Training School of Ringway. The 1st go then to Fritzhill.
After two years of hard training the unit is qualified « operational » with Capt Blondeel as Commanding Officer. The « Belgian Squadron » is now part of the famous SAS Brigade.
In july 1944 the first belgian squads are lifted into France East of Falaise to execute recce and combat missions against the Germans troops.
Other parachutings are made in France (around Beauvais, French Ardennes, in Belgium (in Hautes Fagnes, Gedinne and Limbourg) as well as in Netherlands (in Friseland). Their actions are intended to support the advance of the Allied Forces northward. During the offensive von Rundstedt in Belgian Ardenne, all squads of belgians were mixed and received armoured jeeps. The unit executed dangerous missions for the 6th Airborne (UK).
At the beginning of 1945 the Belgian SAS Regiment had three squadrons acting in the North of The Netherlands and in Germany. After the fall of the Third Reich on May 8, 1945 all units are involved in counter-intelligency missions in Danemark and Germany.
The Belgian SAS Regiment fought continuously from July, 1944 till May, 1945.
First barracks on the belgian soil at Tervueren in July 1945. A training center is opened in Westmalle (August 1945) to be transfered to Poulser on March 31, 1946. The Regiment was going to Leopoldsburg the be transferred in the Citadel of Diest from 1953 up to now.
The unit took part of the Congo compaigns in 1960.
They fought at Stanleyville and Kindu in 1964 to deliver hostages of the Simba’s .
They fought side by side with the French Legion at Kolwézi.
The unit took part of Restore Hope in Somalia, in Rwanda, in Bosnia, Kosovo, …. It would be to long to list all the missions made.
The 1st Bataillon Para belongs to the Belgian Paracommando Brigade and wears the Red Beret as well as the badge of « Special Air Service » inherited from his predecessors of WW2 (World War 2)

Recientemente el Ejercito belga hizo el anuncio de la adquisicion del nuevo helicoptero de la Empresa Eurocopter NH-90, la cantidad aun no fue dada a conocer.

El TTH (Tactical Transport Helicopter, helicóptero de transporte táctico) es la versión para transporte del NH90.NH90 ha sido diseñado y concebido para poder operar desde cualquier tipo de superficie preparada o no preparada y para cumplir, ya desde su diseño básico, todas las características específicas que requiere el transporte táctico.Entre otras, son: calificación EMI/EMC, capacidad intrínseca para despegar y aterrizar sea día o noche y en condiciones metereológicas extremadamente adversas, llevando a cabo un vuelo NOE (vuelos de contorno táctico o Nap of the Earth), más allá del FEBA (Forward Edge of the Battle Area), junto con una alta disponibilidad, un bajo esfuerzo de mantenimiento, así como mantenimiento de la línea de vuelo de hasta el tercer nivel.El TTH está expresamente diseñado para llevar a cabo las siguientes misiones principalmente:
Transporte táctico de hasta 20 tropas equipadas o
Transporte de un vehículo táctico ligero
Transporte de mercancía de hasta 2500 Kg.

During the Belgian « Vlootdagen » (Navy Days) on July 8 & 9, 2007 at Zeebrugge (Main Naval Base of the Belgian Navy) we can see this curious radio guided planes. belongs to the Anti-Aircraft Artillery School and is used for towing target.
ZEEBRUGGE - Celebrates its hundred years this weekend. Belgium’s second largest sea port will welcome Crown Prince Filip and Princess Mathilde where they will open the new Albert II dock. On Sunday the port celebrates its Open Day. The general public will be able to visit port companies that deal with maritime affairs where they can see dredging and tug boats also. The Zeebrugge Naval Base celebrates its annual Navy Days also and visitors can go on board many of the foreign ships that have sailed to the port for this event. Koksijde Air Base is a Belgian Air Force facility in Koksijde, Belgium. 40 sqn operating 5 Westland Sea King Mk.48 helicopters for SAR duties. Also based at Koksijde Air Base are Alouette III helicopters. Both types will be replaced with NH90.

Raymond Lallemant, quien fuera el 1er comandante de la base. El coronel Lallemant fue miembro de la RAF durante la 2da Guerra mundial, en el periodo en que Belgica fue ocupada por las tropas alemanas. Participó en muchas misiones pilotando tanto aviones Spitfire como asi tambien el Hawker Typhoon (Squadron 609). fue participe de la MISION JERICHO, como asi tambien volo en los cielos durante el desembarco de Normandía . Coronel Lallemant estara siempre entre
nosotros...!!!.

during the WW2. Belgium was in this period occupied by the Germans. He made many missions on Spifire and Hawker Typhoon. He was member of the mission "Jericho" and was in the sky of Normandy during the landing of June 1944. Colonel Lallemant is still alive.

"Spitfire Museum", Florennes, BELGICA

La base de Florennes tiene un museo muy bello llamado "Spitfire Museum" porque fueron los famosos Spit los primeros aviones en ser utilizado por la Segunda Ala de Caza (2 Wing) de la Fuerza Aerea Belga. Con motivo de su 60 aniversario, la Segunda Ala de Caza (2 Wing) expuso los aviones que utilizó en su momento a lo largo de la historia como el F-84 Thunderstreak.

El Fouga Magister, que supo representar un momento muy especial en la carrera de los pilotos de la Segunda Ala

(2 Wing) el cual fue utilizado en la formacion de generaciones de pilotos.
Un tesoro guardado por este Museo es este Mig-15, un recuerdo de la Guerra Fría entre el Este y el Oeste.
Actualmente la Segunda Ala de Caza utiliza los F- 16, dentro de la 1era y 350 escuadrilla.
Todavía hay mucho para ver y a comentar, pero eso sera otro dia.
