Sukhoi Superjet 100 is certified in Mexico



April 25, 2012, Moscow – On the 16th of April 2012 Direccion General de Aeronautica Civil, the Aviation Authority of Mexico, provided Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) with the Validating Letter (Type Certificate) for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (model RRJ-95B) aircraft.

This document confirms the compliance of the SSJ100 aircraft to the certification requirements of the Mexican Aviation Authority and allows the delivery and operations of aircraft of such a type in Mexico without limitations.

“For the first year of commercial operations the Sukhoi Superjet 100 revealed remarkable operational results and outstanding safety performance and the certification of our aircraft in Mexico reflects the international recognition of our aircraft safety and performance features. It is important for the delivery of SSJ100 to the Interjet airline, the first SSJ100 customer in the Latin America,” said SCAC First Vice-president for development and certification Igor Vinogradov.

In January 2011 the Mexican airline Interjet signed a contract with SuperJet International for the purchase of 15 SSJ100 plus five options. The delivery of the first aircraft is scheduled for the end of the year 2012.

Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) is a 100 seat regional jet designed, developed and built by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC), in partnership with Alenia Aermacchi. On May 19th 2008 SSJ100 successfully accomplished its first flight. The Sukhoi Superjet 100 cruises at a Maximum Operating Speed of Mach 0.81 and 40,000 feet. It takes off from a 1,731 meters runway in the basic range and 2,052 meters in the long range. The operating range for the basic version is 3,048 km and 4,578 km for the long range version. In February 2011, the SSJ100 obtained the Type Certificate by the Russian Certification Authority IAC AR. On April 19th 2011 first production SSJ100 was delivered to Armavia airlines (Armenia). In February 2012, the SSJ100 obtained the EASA Type Certificate. By the mid of April 2012 eight SSJ100s in service with Armavia and Aeroflot accumulated some 6,500 flight hours in more than 3,350 revenue flights.

El día 16 de abril de 2012, la  Direccion General de Aeronautica Civil,  autoridad de la aviación de México, entrego a Sukhoi Aircraft Company Civil (SCAC) el CERTIFICADO TIPO para el avión Sukhoi Superjet 100 (modelo RRJ-95B). 
 
Este documento confirma la conformidad del avión SSJ100 a los requisitos de la certificación de la autoridad mexicana de la aviación y permite la entrega y las operaciones del avión SSJ100 en México sin limitaciones.
 
“En el primer año de operaciones comerciales el Sukhoi Superjet 100 reveló resultados operacionales notables y un funcionamiento excepcional de seguridad. La certificación de nuestro avión en México refleja el reconocimiento internacional de nuestras características por la seguridad y el funcionamiento del avión.
 
Es importante para la entrega de SSJ100 a la línea aérea Interjet, el primer cliente SSJ100 en la América latina,” dijo el vice presidente de SCAC, Igor Vinogradov. 
 
En enero de 2011 la línea aérea mexicana Interjet firmó un contrato con SuperJet internacional para la compra de 15 SSJ100 más cinco opciones. La entrega del primer avión fue programada para fines del año 2012.
 
El Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) es un jet regional de 100 asientos diseñado, desarrollado y construido por Sukhoi Aircraft Company Civil (SCAC), en sociedad con Alenia Aermacchi. El 19 de mayo de 2008 SSJ100 logró con éxito su primer vuelo.
